Jill Elizabeth Martin

Jill Elizabeth Martin died Sunday, October 13, 2002, at the age of eighteen. Jill was born March 6, 1984, in Duncan, Oklahoma, to Ray Carroll Martin and Beth Ann Garza. Jill was a senior at Comanche High School while working part-time at Economy Foods in Meridian.

Jill was very active in school as evidenced by the following list: TSA, FFA, FFCLA Secretary, Science Club, Pep Club, Yearbook Co-editor, and Video Yearbook Editor. She was voted Outstanding Junior Girl by her classmates, followed by Most Outspoken Senior Favorite, and Senior Class President.

Survivors include: her father, Ray Martin of Atoka, OK; her mother and step-father - Beth and Gilbert Garza of Comanche, OK; one brother - Toby Martin of Tishomingo, OK; her grandparents - Melvin and Bobbye Davis, Barbara Martin, and Jack Welch, all of Comanche, OK; her great-grandmother - Minnie Williamson of Comanche, OK; four aunts - Carla and Chris O'Kelly of Duncan, OK, Robbie Davis of Cuero, TX, Kim and Ronny Clampitt of Loco, OK, and Evelyn and Alton Branch of Comanche, OK; one uncle - San Martin, Jr. of Comanche, OK; eight cousins - Ryan, Kevin, Mallory, and Claire O'Kelly, Walter Clampitt, and Bridget and Chaz Branch.

Funeral services were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, 2002, in the Comanche High School Gymnasium with Jimmy Ferguson officiating and Billy Morgan officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Comanche Project Graduation.
