Jessie Juarez Martinez, seventy,passed from this life Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Duncan Regional Hospital. He was one of eight children born to Cleto and Ramona Martinez in Fredericksburg, Texas. He and Vernita Dean were married on March 24, 1978 in Duncan, OK. He had worked as a farmer and then for Elliots Mobile Home and until the present had run the bait shop at the Waurika Lake. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include: his wife Vernita Martinez of the home in Waurika, OK; three daughters - Carmen, Irene, and Patricia; two sons - John and Jessie, Jr.; three brothers - Tony Martinez of Meridian, OK, Cleto Martinez of Fredericksburg, TX, and Eddie Martinez of Burnett, TX; three sisters - Mary Ann Frazier of Killeen, TX, Linda Tanez of Temple, TX, and Hortencia Bennett of Keller, TX; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother Johnny Martinez.

Funeral services for Mr. Martinez will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Wolf offficating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
