Jervis "Jerry" Houchins
Jervis "Jerry" Houchins was born June 7, 1924, at Sugden, Oklahoma, to Zan and Beulah (Cox) Houchins He passed from this life August 10, 2019, in Oklahoma City, OK. He married Frances Johnston June 10, 1950, in Montague County, Texas.
He was a leader for many years of the Hastings Church of Christ. Jervis retired from Waurika Public Schools as a bus mechanic. He was also a farmer from which he never retired.
He is survived by his Wife - Frances, sister - Maxine, sons - Larry Houchins and Sandy, Darrell Houchins and Cindy, Jim Houchins and Debbie, and Shawn Houchins and Pam, his daughters - Nancy Sanders, LuAnne Gage and Butch, Tina Stewart and Tim, and Patti Houchins, 19 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his oldest son Kelly Dean Houchins, his grandson Chad Edward Houchins, his Mother Beulah, Father Zan and his brother LD Houchins.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 15, 2019, at the Church of Christ in Waurika with Bud Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ in Hastings - P.O.
