Jennie Catherine Mertz Sims died August 13, 2002, in Phoenix, Arizona. Jennie was born December 23, 1907, in Richmond, Indiana. She married William Bill Sims on October 10, 1924. They traveled a lot while working. They moved to the Comanche, Oklahoma area in 1964. Jennie enjoyed fishing and hunting. She was baptized in April 1968, and was a member of Meridian Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two sisters - Lucille Bledsoe of Phoenix, AZ, and Alice Myers of Barstow, CA; three sisters-in-law - Dorothy Payne Ross of Duncan, OK, Wanda Sharp of Beeville, TX, and Irene Williams of Madill, OK; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Sims.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sims were at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at Meridian Baptist Church with Bro. Edwards officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
