Jean N. Porterfield was born March 24, 1921 to Edna and Roy Porterfield. She passed from this life on Thursday morning November 15, 2007 at the age of 86.She attended school in Sugden and graduated in 1939. She met and married Max Clawiter. They moved to Big Sandy, Montana where they ranched. Jean later moved to San Diego, California to be closer to family. She owned and operated a beauty salon and studied dress design as a hobby. Jean moved to Waurika, Oklahoma, to look after her mother and lived here until the end of 2005, when she suffered a severe stroke and was moved to the Henrietta Care center in Henrietta, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Judge, Garland and Donald, and her two sisters; Pauline and Louise.

Memorial services for Jean were held Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 10:00AM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Robert Jacobson officiating.
