Jean Christian was born February 21, 1924, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Jody and Ruby M. Robertson Ball. She passed from this life Sunday, April 27, 2008, in Roff, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-four. She and Ira Lee Christian were married July 11, 1942,, in Dalhart, Texas. He preceded her in death July 2, 2005. She was a homemaker. Jean was a scout mother and band mother for four years at Crockett Elementary in El Paso, Texas. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge #174 in Olney, Texas, the Delphein Club in Waurika, Oklahoma, and the Parent/Teacher Association in El Paso, Texas. She was a member of the Waurika United Methodist Church.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Kris, and one sister, Freddie.

Survivors include: one daughter - Karen and her husband Larry Murray of Roff, OK; one grandson - William Christian Murry and his wife Nancy; two great-grandchildren - Ashlyn Grace and Finn Christian Murray; and numerous other family members.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christian will be at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Waurika United Methodist Church with Rev. Trevor Smith and grandson William Bill Murray officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika, Oklahoma. Visitation will be at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Timbers Hospice of Ardmore or the Waurika United Methodist Church.
