J.B. Chisum passed from this life Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at his home in Comanche, Oklahoma, at the age of ninety-five. He was bor October 20, 1909, in Montague, Texas, to P.M. and Mary Ball Chisum. He married Opal Ella Hughes in March of 1935, in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He was a farmer

Survivors include: four sons - Wayne and his wife Betty of Massachusetts, Bill and his wife Helen of Comanche, OK, Don and his wife Glenda of Duncan, OK, and Sam and his wife Sue of Empire, OK; two daughters - Nancy Zumwalt of Del City, OK, and Pearlie Beck of Empire, OK; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-seven great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren.

J.B. was preceded in death by his wife Opal, in 1998, his parents, one brother, and one sister.

Funeral services for J.B. Chisum were at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, 2005, with Aaron Summers officiating. Burial was in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
