Nancy “Jane” Lewis Williamson was born Feb. 26, 1927 to John Morgan “Jim” Lewis and Ozella Lovelady Lewis in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, just one month after her beloved husband, Jack Williamson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2009, at the First Baptist Church of Waurika with Rev. Jeff McLemore and Rev. Charles McConnell officiating. Burial will be at the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Thursday from noon -7PM with family receiving visitors from 5-7PM.

 

Jane grew up in Waurika where her parents ran a grocery store for 35 years. She attended Waurika High School where she was an active member of the band as a Drum Major. After graduating from high school she attended the University of Central Oklahoma with a major in business and Home Economics.

 

Jack and Jane were married on June 30, 1951 in Waurika. They made their home in Fort Worth, Texas, then retired and moved back to Waurika to be close to her parents. Jane was an active member of First Baptist Church where she greatly enjoyed her “Promise” Sunday school class. She also served on many committees, which blessed others with her wonderful cooking and kind heart. She was also active in the Waurika GFWC Sorosis Club.

 

Jane was a business owner of JaBee Gifts where she enjoyed being surrounded by changing trends and current fashions. She was an avid gardner, talented seamstress, and an incredible cook. She delighted in her family and always made creating a lovely home her priority. Of all her accomplishments, Jane considered her greatest to be that of raising her three daughters.

 

Jane is survived by: her daughters, Diane deTurck and husband, David, of Bedford, Texas; Vicki Hutto of Plano, Texas; and Janet Williamson and Michael Reznikoff of Fort Worth; as well as two granddaughters, Mandy deTurck of Dallas and Jamie deTurck of Bedford. She also has many beloved nieces and nephews.

 

Jane was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Jack Williamson; cousins Jimmie Tarleton and Faye Alexander; and an uncle, Joe Lewis; all of East Texas.

 

Memorials in honor of Jane Williamson may be made to Sorosis Club, Senior Citizens of Waurika, or First Baptist Church of Waurika.
