James Prentice Estes was born November 13, 1935, to Mr. and Mrs. Olen Hooker in Bakersfield, CA. He passed from this life Sunday, July 8, 2001, in the University Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 65.

James and his wife JoAnn were united in marriage on November 4, 1960, in San Jose, CA. After serving as a paratrooper in the Army he and his family moved to Waurika in 1976 where he was a self-employed electrician.

James is survived by his wife JoAnn of the home; his mother - Gladys Nebel of Tonopah, AZ; two daughters - Kimberly and Johnny Berry, and Traci and Ricky Dyer of Waurika; one brother, Phillip Estes of Dayton, OH; one sister - Mary Ann of Vallejo, CA; five grandchildren - Travis Michel, Joshua Berry, Nolan Berry and Trevor Smith; and one great-grandchild - Isaac Michel.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
