James Elvin Croxton

James Elvin Croxton was born June 11, 1943 in Ringgold, Texas. He passed from this life Sunday, May 6, 2012 at his home in Terral surrounded by his loving family.

James and Melba Gunter were married June 22, 1973 in Bowie, Texas. James worked in the oil field and worked his way up from the floor to being a consultant. He also drove a truck for over 50 years. He drove for other companies as well as his own truck for many years, hauling cattle, produce, grain. His last driving job was relocating equipment for Halliburton for the last 4 years. James and Melba joined the Terral Assembly of God Church in Terral in 1980. He was a devoted husband, father, and pappaw. He loved the lord and his family with everything he had.

He leaves behind his wife Melba of the home in Terral, children - James Randal (Randy) Croxton, Laci Deann Loyd and husband Bryan, Cheyenne Cason and husband Mike of Bluffdale, Texas, Bobbie Pointer and husband Bobby, siblings - Johnny Croxton and wife Linda of Montague, Texas, Jerry Croxton and wife Melinda, Melvin Croxton and wife Janet of Bowie, Texas, and Janice Croxton of Bowie, Texas, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 1:00PM at the Terral Assembly of God Church with Rev. Floyd Key and Rev. Charles Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Ringgold Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Memorials may be made to the Terral Assembly of God Church. Visitation will be at the Terral Assembly of God Church Tuesday from 10AM- 8PM with family receiving visitors from 5-6PM. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Duke, Ricky Duke, Wiley Vanover, Randy Harris, Bobby Keith and Skipper Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Continental DriveAway Drivers.
