James G. Bruton was born April 17, 1915 in Vian, Oklahoma to James and Myrtle Bruton. He passed from this life Saturday, March 21, 2009 at his home in Duncan at the age of ninety - three. He served his country in the United States Army in WWII. He and Dorothy Jones were married August 10, 1962 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James worked as a civil engineer for the Corp of Engineers. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Waurika.
James is survived by his wife Dorothy of the home, daughter - Virginia Bruton of Portland, Oregon, and son - Lance Garman of Elgin, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 1:00PM at the First Christian Church in Waurika with Rev. Curtis Plant officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery (Duncan, OK.) under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Monday from noon-8PM at the funeral home in Waurika. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church.
