James E. Bond passed from this life Friday, January 9, 2004, in Brookside Care Center in Madill, Oklahoma, at the age of 79, while under the care of Integris Marshall Memorial Hospital Hospice. He was born March 17, 1924, to Robert and Mary Lou (Tow) Bond in Talihina, Oklahoma, and graduated from high school there. In the late 1940s he was the Number One Dispatcher for West Texas, working for police and fire departments in Borger, Texas. After working for Phillips 66, James married Dorothy Mae Hance Stuckey February 23, 1954, in Clovis, New Mexico. They moved from Borger so he could work for the Gatesville State School for Boys where he retired in 1973. They made their retirement home in Ryan, Oklahoma, so he could fish in the Red River. In 2002, James moved to Madill to enjoy his great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Mary Lou Bond, three brothers - Henry, Cecil and Ernest Bond, and two sisters - Myrte Bond and Lela Mae Tidwell.
Survivors include: three daughters - Glynna Marlett of Madill, OK, Evelyn Clarissa Jenkins of Ryan, OK, and Donna Gail Hamby of Madill, OK; two sons - Thomas E. Wallace of Florida, and J.C. Stuckey, Jr., of Ryan, OK; three sisters - Freda Lee Bond of Talihina, OK, Gladys Ivy of Talihina, OK, and Ann Holland of Duncan, OK; two brothers - two brothers - Leonard and Patrick Bond, both of Talihina, OK; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 12, 2004, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan, Okalhoma, with Paul Ratliff officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Visitation was Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until service time at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan.
