Jack L. Tripp

Jack L. Tripp, 91, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life Sunday, December 13, 2015, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was born November 26, 1924, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Lester Jefferson and Hortense (Turner) Tripp. He graduated from Waurika High School in 1943 and received a degree in Mortuary Science in 1948. He married E. Maxine Smith on February 9, 1949 in Waurika, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. He worked as a mortician, owned and operated a service station and was a rural mail carrier for 31 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waurika.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine, his parents Lester and Hortense Tripp, sister Jeanne Malone, and one brother Dr. J. Pat Tripp.
Survivors include: daughters - Terri Lynn Tripp and companion Sharon Parker of Tulsa, OK, Karla Ann Tripp and her husband Stephen Ware of McKinney, TX, and Sharon Kay Tripp Bates of Dickinson, TX; brother Ted T. Tripp of Ringling, OK; grandchildren CW4 Gregory Bates and his wife Melissa, and Kellie and her husband Jimmy Constance; and great-grandchildren Aiden and Isabella Bates, and James, Anabel, and Caroline Constance.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika with Rev. Karen Slater officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with the family attending from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Smith, Gary Carter, Steve Smith, Brad Scott, Johnny Griffin, and James Earl Montgomery.
