Irene (Dry) Helms

Irene (Dry) Helms, 83, passed from this life November 8, 2019. She was born March 28, 1936, in Albion, Oklahoma, to Allen and Blanche (Tackett) Dry. She married Elmer Leroy (Bill) Helms November 14, 1962, in Hobbs, New Mexico in a double wedding ceremony with best friends Blaine and Jimmie Hunn. She and Bill owned Helms Roofing and Sun Valley Roofing Company for many years. She was a bookkeeper, real estate broker, worked for Elliott Manufacturing and Shelton's Grocery for many years. She was a member of the Waurika Church of Christ. Her greatest joy was her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, siblings Mattie Johnson, Allen Dry, Jr., Glinna Kitchens, Terrell Dry, Becky Andeberg, and two infant siblings.

She is survived by daughter Linda Helms and granddaughter Destiny Zinn of Waurika, sister Martha Baskins, of Oklahoma City, Art Holland and wife Lynette of Yukon, Cody Holland and wife Paige of Waurika, Debbie Robinson and husband Brad of Fort Worth, and Chuck Andeberg of Mustang, Arlie Johnson and wife Sharon Johnson, of Waurika several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Waurika Church of Christ in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Noel Curington and Tommy Maxwell officiating. Burial will be Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel on Waurika.
