Ira Hugh Hurley

Ira Hugh Hurley, 67, passed from this life at Westbrook Healthcare Nursing Home in Waurika, Oklahoma, January 23, 2019. He was born September 17, 1951 in Nocona, Texas, to Lacey Hugh "Ted" and Edna (Martin) Hurley.
He attended high school at Ryan and learned woodworking at the Comanche Vocational Center. Mr. Hurley married Rebecca Maness, on November 15, 1973. He maintained employment as a laborer to provide for his family. He was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Waurika, Oklahoma. He was an ordained minister and for several years, along with a friend, Mr. Hurley ministered to the residents of local nursing homes through music and God's word. Other interests included woodwork, reading his Bible and playing gospel music on his guitar.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father Ben Mincher.
Mr. Hurley is survived by his wife Rebecca Hurley of Waurika, OK, daughters Fannie Crowder of Fox, OK and Linda DeVaney of Lane, OK, grandchildren Colby Vaughn, Austin Greer, William Clegg, Levi Clegg and Angel DeVaney; great-grandchildren Resseme Vaughn and Billy Vaughn; brothers Eddie Hurley of Ardmore, OK, Sam Hurley of Duncan, OK, and Johnny Hurley of Lone Grove, OK.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2019, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Waurika Assembly of God Church.
