Inez Myrtle Shelton, born January 5, 1931, in Shinewell, Oklahoma, was one of twelve children born to Myrtle Viola Vanscoder and Clarence Jackson Shelton. She passed from this life Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the Westbrook Nursing Home in Waurika, Oklahoma at the age of seventy-seven. Inez graduated from Southeastern with a degree in Education. She taught school for several years in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Inez married James Otis Clark May 25, 1956, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1995. She married George Brumfield July 23, 1998, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Inez was a member of the Waurika Church of Christ and the Sojourners Group.

Survivors include: her husband George of Portales, NM; her son Dr. Jim Clark and his wife Sonya of Waurika, OK; his daughters - Linda Brumfield and her husband Joe of Searcy, Arkansas, Amy and her husband Patrick Howe of Sulphur, OK; his brothers - Vernon Shelton of Eagletown, OK, Olin Shelton of Haworth, OK, Charles Shelton of Benton, AR, Emmitt Shelton of Orr City, TX, Roger Shelton of Haworth, OK and Larry Shelton of Mineola, TX; his sisters - Evelean Davis of Redland, OK and Shirley Davis of Eagletown, OK; his grandchildren - Joshua Brumfield and his wife Lydia, Lindsey Brumfield, Brady and Brandi Clark, and Samantha and Faith Howe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, brother Clifford Shelton, sisters Della Hill and Betty Watson and daughter Mary Ann Clark Avery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Brumfield will be at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 5, 2008, at the Waurika Church of Christ with Joe Brumfield officiating. Burial will be in the Greenhill Cemetery in Davis, Oklahoma under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Thursday, September 4 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family receiving visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
