Ina Jean Dollar Herring was born March 4, 1922, in Caney, Oklahoma, to Ina Sarah and John Edward Dollar. Jean passed from this life Saturday, September 6, 2003, at the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of eighty-one. She and Doyal Herring were united in marriage in 1971, at the Methodist Church in Waurika, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1991. She worked in the County Treasurer's Office at the Jefferson County Courthouse and also was a bookkeeper at Universal Insurance Company in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Waurika, a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and a past president of the Eastern Star Lodge in Waurika.

Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law - David and Cheryl Kent of Waurika, OK; one brother - Ina Dollar of Chickasha, OK; one sister - Mildred Dollar Cullar of Waurika, OK; three grandchildren - Tara, Kimberly, and Joseph; and four great-grandchildren - Wyatt, Brendan, Jonathan, and Alexis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her father, and one brother - Charlie Edward Dollar.

Graveside services for Mrs. Herring were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at the Waurika Cemetery with Curtis Plant officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
