Paul Henry Baker

Paul Henry Baker, 74, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed away June 2, 2017. He was born December 30, 1942, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to Paul E. and Bertie(Dinsmore) Baker.
Henry was married to Doris Bell on September 22, 1962, in Reno, Nevada. He was a plumbing contractor and a musician. He and Doris devoted their later years to their music, especially the preservation of the Western Swing genre. Henry was honored to be a member of the Sacramento Western Swing Society Hall of Fame, the Western Swing Music Society of the Southwest Hall of Fame, and the North West Western Swing Music Hall of Fame, he was a Hero in the Cowtown Society of Western Music and most recently was inducted into the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Sheila Ann Baker Griggs.
He was survived by his wife Doris, of the home in Waurika, OK; one daughter - Shelly Lynn Baker Menishew; two sisters - Donna and her husband Don McMahon, and Linda and her husband Chris Brown; two grandchildren - Shawn Casey Flatford and Jason Leslie Murray; and two great-grandchildren - Casey Ray Flatford and Blake Murray.
Funeral services will be at the Stout Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka, Oklahoma, at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 8, 2017, with Chris Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka. Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and at the Stout Phillips Funeral Home on Thursday morning until service time.
