Hazel Loree Seay Smart
Hazel Loree was born November 4, 1916 in Ryan, Oklahoma to Walter A. and Annie Lou Zachary Harris. She passed from this life Thursday, June 10, 2010 in Ft. Worth, Texas at the age of ninety-three. Hazel graduated from Ryan High School in 1936. She and Billy Seay were married July 6, 1937 in Walters, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in 1972. She married T.J. Smart in April 1974. He preceded her in death in November 1990. She was a bookkeeper in the Oscar Oil Field. She was also a Postmistress at the Oscar Post office, owner of the Oscar Store, a homemaker, and a member of the Ryan United Methodist Church. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, and working in her yard. She was an animal lover. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter - Jimmie Stephens of Ft. Worth, grandchildren- Jason Stephens of Ft. Worth, Cade Stephens of Dallas, Jamie St. Peter and husband Jerry of Dallas, Ashley Averhoff and husband Cody of Ft. Worth, great grandchildren - Wyatt and Westin Averhoff and Lylah and Beckham St. Peter, step-son - Trey Smart and family of Lawton, Oklahoma
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers - Reed and Wayne, sister - Faye Suttle, and half sister Flossie Milton.
Funeral service will be Monday, June 14, 2010 at 1:30PM at the United Methodist Church in Ryan with Rev. Trey Smart officiating. Burial will be in the Oscar cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. (612 Washington) Viewing will be from 2-4PM Sunday and Monday from 10AM-noon. Memorials may be made to the Ryan Sr. Citizens.
