Hazel Allene Cephus

Hazel Allene was born March 9, 1929 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Lee and Beulah Freeman McMurtry. She passed from this life Friday, April 18, 2014 in Westbrook Care Center at the age of 85.

Hazel and Ferris (Babe) Cephus were married in Waurika in 1952. He preceded her in death February 18, 1990. Hazel was a Seventh Day Adventist. She was a member of the Songwriters Guild of Oklahoma.

She is survived by her daughter - Connie Dean and husband Richard, son - Danny Cephus, stepson - Johnny Cephus, 4 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Babe, 5 brothers, and 1 sister that passed away at birth.

Graveside service for Mrs. Cephus will be Monday, April 21, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Waurika Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5PM and Monday from 9AM-12:30PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's association.
