Harry William Renner

Harry William Renner was born September 11, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa, to H.E. and Blanche McCullough Renner. He passed from this life Wednesday, January 04, 2006, at the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, at the age of eighty-two. Harry graduated from Drake University. He served his country in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He played in the Army Air Corp Band in the Philippines. Harry and Lillian Ruth Leavelle Renner were married September 20, 1954, in Terral, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death April 7, 2005. Mr. Renner worked for the railroad for over thirty-six years as a telegrapher and depot agent. He worked in Waurika for Rock Island Railroad for many of those years. He was a member of the Waurika VFW, American Legion, and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Waurika. He taught youth Sunday school for two years in the seventies.

Survivors include: two sons - Randy Renner and his wife Julie, of Edmond, OK; and Torin Renner of Waurika, OK; and two grandchildren - Jordan and Jacquelyn Renner, both of Edmond, OK.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian, his wife of more than fifty years, one brother A.D. Dick Renner, and two sisters - Maxine Holmes and Rosalin Renner.

Funeral services for Mr. Renner were at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in Waurika, with Audie Durrough officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika.
