Harold George Hobbs

Harold George Hobbs died Monday, October 7, 2002, in Waurika, Oklahoma. Harold was born October 25, 1936, in Ryan, Oklahoma, to Joe W. and Vernie Hobbs. Harold graduated from Duncan High School in 1954, and has lived in the Duncan and Waurika area all his life. Harold worked for OTASCO and retired from Halliburton Co. in 1992 with twenty-nine years of service. Harold was a friend to all and everyone loved him. He never met a stranger. Harold's favorite quote was "I got the best tractors and the cutest goats." Harold and Molly White married March 14, 1973.

Survivors include: his wife Molly, of the home in Waurika, his mother - Vernie Hobbs of Duncan, OK; one son - Glen and Tena Hobbs; two daughters - Dena Griffith of Lubbock, TX, and Lacretia and Chris Miles of Rhome, TX; one sister - Irene Luttrell; eight grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Preceded him in death are his father, Joe W. Hobbs, a son, Kevin Hobbs, and a sister, Helen Pope.

Funeral services were Thursday, October 10, 2002, at the Waurika Church of Christ, with Noel Curington officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.

Pallbearers were nephews - Don Luttrell, Joe Mark Luttrell, David Barrick, Terry Don Park, Todd Park, Jeff Park, Gregg Park, and Stan Mayfield. Honorary pallbearers were The Coffee Bunch, Gene Elkins, Bill Johnson, Harlan Adair, Herman Schaffner, Chris Brown, and Ray Turner.
