Gregg Anthony Garrett was born January 14, 1976 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Gene and Cris Baker Garrett and passed from this life March 5, 2001 in Terral, Oklahoma at the age of 25.
Gregg was a 1995 graduate of Ryan High School and worked as a welder. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ryan and the International Association of Bridge Structure, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers. He was employed as a welder at the time of his death.
Gregg loved being outdoors and feeling the sun upon his face. His interest included hunting, fishing, farming and ranching, and he enjoyed working with his hands. He and Vickie Williams were united in marriage February 26, 1998 in Port Isabel, Texas. To this union one son was born, Tyler Reece Garrett.
Gregg is survived by his parents Gene and Cris Garrett; his wife Vickie; one son, Tyler Reece; two sisters, Tonya Garrett of Wichita Falls, Texas and Twylla Simaichl and her husband Billy of Holliday, Texas; one brother, Robby Garrett of Ryan, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Hope, Hannah and Meredith of Holliday, Texas and Black and JC Garrett of Ryan, Oklahoma.
He loved his son Ty, and his family. He will deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Ryan on Thursday, March 8, 2001, at 10:30 AM. Burial was in Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral, Oklahoma.
