Viola Grace Foster


Grace Viola Amick Foster 64, of Waurika, Oklahoma went home to be with the Lord on March 9th 2011 while a patient at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. Grace was born May 12th 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida. She was the oldest daughter of the late Kenneth and Peggy Deloris Coffell Amick.

Grace married Jack Foster on May 18th 1989 in Las Vegas Nevada. They owned and operated Doors Plus, Jack and Grace Foster Trucking and Waurika Chisholm Trail Craft Mall. She worked at the Jefferson County Hospital as a technician in the ER department. Grace served on the Waurika Public Library board from June 2004 to current. Accepting Presidency of the Board in 2010. She was also an active member of the Duncan and Blythe VFW’s . Grace was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved helping others and supported several charities.

Grace was preceded in death by her Parents and Daughter Grace Ann Hicks.

Those left behind to cherish her memories include her beloved husband Jack Foster, Daughter Laura and son in law Kevin Kirkland, Son Jack and daughter in law Kim. Steve Foster, Barbara Jean Burrow, Ken Foster, Siblings Linda Clark, Ethel Roy, Loretta Frankowski and half brother Kenneth Amick. Her grandchildren, Cassie and husband Cliff, Ryan and wife Jolyn, Kimberly and husband James, Miranda and husband Ryan, Merissa and husband Justin, Amber, Kristine, and Brooke, Grace was blessed with 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika, Oklahoma. Saturday March 12th 2011 at 11:00am with the Pastor Lynn Plant officiating. Burial will follow at the Waurika Cemetery. Visitation will be at Dudley Funeral home on Friday March 11th from 9:00am to 8:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to service.

Pallbearers: Daniel Roberson, Ronnie Parker, Kenny Robertson, Jeff Garrison, Charlie Root and Jeff Root.

In lieu of flowers Grace requested that donations be made in her memory to the Waurika Public Library. Grace’s sweet spirit and loving heart touched many people. She was an encouraging voice to her children and friends. She quickly became a friend to all. She was kind to inquire how things were going, and graciously offer her wisdom and advice. She wanted only the best for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her time here with her family and friends is past, but her memory and the impact she made will never be forgotten.
