Glen Arthur Wilkinson was born May 12, 1914, in Blue Grove, Texas, to Arthur and Currie Wilkinson. He passed from this life Saturday, December 9, 2006, in the Jefferson County Hospital in Waurika, Oklahoma, at the age of ninety-two. Prior to moving to Waurika in 1976, he was a truck driver for Safeway, owned a sand and gravel business, a ranch in Grove, Oklahoma, and worked for the railroad during World War II. He and Alice Marie Harvey were married April 6, 1933, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 9, 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister.
Survivors include: the many, many nieces and nephews that he raised, including Rusty Wilkinson of Princeton, LA, Mike Wilkinson of Austing, TX, and Lanola Borin, of Dallas, TX - all formerly of Waurika, OK; and his extended family - the entire Kirkland Clan.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilkinson were at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 14, 2006, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Cory Kirkland officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
