Gladys Elizabeth Edwards Willard

Gladys Elizabeth Edwards Willard was born October 25, 1922, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Bessie Jane (Alexander) and Ashby Stephen Cassity. She passed from this life Monday, April 10, 2017, in Waurika.
Liz married Dane Edwards June 8, 1946, in Waurika where they raised their two sons. Liz was the Deputy County Clerk for Jefferson County for many years and was well known for her homemade pies. She and her twin Elaine were most often seen together, and it was quite difficult to determine who was who. Liz married James E. Willard September 22, 1997, in Duncan, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Waurika Lake Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her husband James E. Willard, sons - Gregory Dane Edwards of Hutto, TX; Grant Benson Edwards and wife Claudia of Lawton; stepdaughter-Terri Taulbee and husband Doug Stewart of Duncan; grandchildren – Kasteal Coomer, Kendall, Haley, and Amber Edwards, Coby Edwards and wife Kelly, and, great grandchildren- Braylon, Dane, Aspen, Reese, and Waylon; one sister - Elaine Wood and several nieces and nephews including Donna Wood and Penny Landeros.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dane, and 6 sisters - Opal, Ima, Bonnie, Elma, Mary, and Edna and great granddaughter, Harper.
Funeral service will be Friday, April 14, 2017 at 11AM at Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with O.J. Jackson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 9AM-8PM with family receiving visitors from 6-7PM.
