Gertrude Helen Anderson

Gertrude Helen Anderson, blessed wife and mother, departed this life Wednesday, January 21, 2004, at her home northwest of Ryan, Oklahoma. She was born August 27, 1912, to Chris and Albertina Kafer in the Irving community. Gertrude Anderson was a homemaker and loving wife of Bud Anderson for sixty-eight years. She and F.D. Bud Anderson were united in marriage December 31, 1933, in Waurika, Oklahoma. To this union were born six children.

Mrs. Anderson was an active member of the Ryan First Baptist Church for fifty-seven years. She was an avid gardener, excellent baker of breads and loved canning produce. She enjoyed raising poultry of all kinds. She loved fishing, camping and traveling. She was a lover of life.

Survivors include: four children - Charles and his wife Teena Anderson of Walter, OK, Margaret Anderson of Henrietta, TX, Marie and her husband Rodger Harris of Oklahoma City, OK, and Caroline Garza of Ft Worth, TX; one brother - Max Kafer of Ryan, OK; two sisters - Elsie Self of New Boston, TX, and Katherine Delvin of Ft Myers, FL; six grandchildren - Harold Anderson, John Anderon, Chris Garza, Rebecca Garza, Graham Harris and Lee Harris; and three great-grandchildren - Krystal Stores, Dalas Anderson and Dakota Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bud Anderson, and two sons - F.D. Anderson Jr. and Don Anderson. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anderson were at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Lamoin Champ officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
