George Donald Poage, Sr.

George Donald Poage, Sr., 83, passed from this life August 10, 2014 at his home in Waurika, Oklahoma. He was born to G.A. and Mary Ola Robinett Poage on May 16, 1931, in Ryan, Oklahoma.

George married Jennifer Wright in Wichita Falls, Texas on August 25, 1973. He attended school in Ryan through the eighth grade. He served in the United States Army and was a machinist for Halliburton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waurika. He loved to bowl.

George was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Kenneth, Margie Nell, and Troy Poage, one son George D. Poage, Jr. and two grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife Jennifer, of the home in Waurika, OK; children - Donna Poage, Nona Stevens, Patsy Adams, Diane Gilmore, Curt Poage and his wife Heather, Angela and her husband Toby Williams, and Charlie Poage; two brothers - Jerry Poage of Ryan, OK, and Foy Neal Poage of Livingston, TX.

Funeral services for Mr. Poage will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika, with Rev. Karen Slater officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2: to 8:00 PM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in the Ryan Cemetery.
