Gena Marie Day passed from this life Saturday, May 21, 2005, at her residence in Terral, Oklahoma, at the age of eighty-six. She was born January 2, 1919, in Sharp, Texas, to Frank and Grace Reichert. She married Murl Edward Day March 17, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas. While making their home in Mereta, Texas, Gina was bookkeeper for the Mereta Co-op Gin. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Miles, Texas.

Survivors include: three sons - Frank E. Day and his wife Jeannie of Terral, OK, Jonny M Day and his wife Fae of Grand Prairie, TX, and Doug Day and his wife Linda of Miles, TX; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Gena was preceded in death by her husband Murl.

Funeral services for Mrs. Day were at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 23, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Miles, Texas, with Rev. Sandy Robinson officiating. Burial was in the Miles Cemetery.
