Gary Tyler

Gary Tyler was born September 3, 1951, in Electra, Texas to Tom Tyler and Doris (Pohlman) Tyler. He passed from this life on August 16, 2014, at his home.

Gary is survived by his wife Susan, his daughter, Kimberly Tyler Atkinson and her husband Darryn of Louisville, Kentucky, his daughter Kelly Tyler McCarty and her husband Chase of Fort Worth, Texas, and his daughter Kristy Tyler Goldman and her husband Kyle of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Kyley Ryan Atkinson, Molly Jane Atkinson, Brooklyn Taylor Atkinson, Brandon Michael Atkinson, Mason Tyler McCarty, Madeleine Grace Goldman, and Claire Elise Goldman, his father, Tom Tyler, and his three brothers Steve, Mike, and John.

Gary was preceded in death by his mother Doris, his father-in-law Floyd Park, and his mother-in-law Eileen Park.

Gary married Susan on August 18, 1973. After briefly living in Oklahoma City they moved to Duncan, Oklahoma. Gary worked for Halliburton for thirty years, earning many honors and awards for his work as the IT Director. Gary continued his distinguished career at Weatherford in Houston, Texas. Gary was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an exceptional Papa G. He enjoyed loud music, reading, cooking gourmet meals for his family, and introducing his grandkids to the joy of toy trains.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Ryan Cemetery in Oklahoma.
