Frank Head

Frank McIntire Head was born September 4, 1950, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Richard Franklin and Ruth Marie (McIntire) Head. He passed from this life Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at his home in Waurika. He graduated from Waurika High School in 1968 and attended college for three years. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Southwestern State University. Frank worked as a manager of Western Auto in Hondo, Texas and worked for the railroad in Colorado in his earlier years. He owned and operated Southside Texaco Service Station in Waurika where he could be seen almost every day.
He was an avid golfer and fisherman and also enjoyed playing pool. He loved to laugh and was always cracking a joke when you stopped by the station or when you saw him around town. He was a great man that was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. Frank loved his children and grandchildren and always enjoyed telling stories about them and showing pictures of his grandbabies. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waurika.
Frank is survived by: his children - Brian Head and wife Rachel of Tyler, TX, and Angela (Head) Hakim and husband Pierre of St. Louis, MO; siblings - Mike Head and wife Sheerlyn, Bill Head and wife Diane, Mary Guditis and husband Jay, Nancy Delaune and husband Randy; grandchildren -Madeleine Head and Philip Hakim; nieces and nephews -Justin, Sarah, Monica, Charity, Aaron, Bethanie, Nathan, Nick, Tasha, and Brittany; and his "Southside Service Station Family" - Glenn and Alice.
The funeral service for Mr. Head will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika with Rev. Karen Slater officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday.
