Frank A. Allen, 102, passed from this life Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at the Duncan Regional Hospital. Frank was born June 30, 1905, in Henrietta, Texas, the eleventh child of James and Martha Allen. He graduated high school at Irving Schools in May of 1929. He married Bessie Lee Painter July 14, 1929. In August of 1931, he was ordained as a deacon in Irving Baptist Church. He and Bessie farmed in the Irving Community. They had five children. Bessie passed away March 20, 1977. Frank went to Lubbock, Texas, to help take care of his brother-in-law where he met and married Jewell Stanton on July 13, 1985. Jewell passed away September 29, 2000. Frank took turns living with his five children until moving to the Ryan Nursing Home in May of 2003.

Survivors include: one daughter - Helen Beth Kafer of Ryan, OK; four sons - Troy F. Allen of Arlington, TX, Jimmie D. Allen of Jones, OK, Larry L. Allen of Checotah, OK, and Harrold E. Allen of Midwest City, OK; one brother - Kelley Allen of Ryan, OK, one sister - Hadgie Renz of Ryan, OK; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren;one great-great-grandchild; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Allen will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 1, 2007, at the Irving Baptist Church in Irving, Oklahoma, with Rev. Terry Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Ryan. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Ryan or the Irving Baptist Church.
