Frances Othella Wood Routt 91, of Duncanville, Texas passed from this life on April 12, 2011 in Duncanville, Texas. Frances was born February 2, 1920, to Euel Price and Helen Prestridge Wood in Alvarado, Texas. She and O.R. "George" Routt were married on September 3, 1936 in Hastings, Oklahoma. Frances attended elementary and high school in Addington, OK. Upon marriage the family resided in Hastings while Frances worked at Haggar Slacks for twenty years and Basco Leather Company until she retired at the age of 70 to help with her beloved grandchildren. She was a Sunday school teacher at the Hastings Baptist Church for many years and during her life she gave many devotionals while working at her places of employment. Frances was always concerned about the well being of others in helping them in any way that she could. She was a true role model to each and everyone in her family. Frances was an excellent cook, each of her family members have tried to inherit such talent but none have been successful as of yet.

Frances is preceded in death by her husband - O.R. "George" Routt, parents, sisters - Edna Earl Deapen and Billy Burl Wood, and brothers - Euel Price Wood Jr. and Eugene Wood.

She is survived by her daughters - Frieda Ann Herd and husband Bobby of Duncanville, TX, Carolyn Clark of Irving, TX, and Dena Joy Paterson of Plano, TX, grandchildren - Cheryl Denise and husband Alfred Espinoza, Brenda Diane Herd, Shawn Michelle and husband Bobby Hill, Jodi Lynn Paterson, Jordan Leigh Paterson, and Jennifer Louise Paterson, great-grandchildren - Jessica Lynn and husband Patrick Maddocks, Jamie Renee Boriack Grimaldo, Joni Christina and husband Adam Bullard, and Dillon Lee Hill, and one great-great-child - Elena Rose Aleman.

A graveside service will be held for Frances Othella Wood Routt at the Waurika Cemetery in Waurika, OK at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 17, 2011 with Reverend Carl Herd officiating.
