Mary Frances Hargis was born December 6,1924 in Bennington, Oklahoma to Charles B. and Nannie Mildred Pitts Ladd. She passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 at her home in Waurika at the age of eighty-six. She worked for the ASCS Department of Agriculture for over twenty years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sorosis Club in Waurika. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waurika where she taught Sunday school. She and Loyd Gaines Hargis Jr. were married September 9, 1944 in Waurika, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband L.G. Hargis, Jr.of the home in Waurika, children - Myrajane Sandner and husband John of Shawnee, Kansas, David Hargis of Waurika, and John G. Hargis and wife Linda of San Antonio, Texas, ten grandchildren and 1 great grandson, one great grandson on the way, and one brother - Walter Eugene Ladd of Oklahoma City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 11:00AM at the First United Methodist Church in Waurika with John G. Hargis officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Monday from 1-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-8PM with the family receiving visitors from 6-7PM. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Waurika.
