Thomas Floyd Petit

Thomas Floyd Petit, 78, of Waurika, Oklahoma, passed from this life Wednesday, June 24, 2015, in Waurika. He was born August 18, 1936, in Archer City, Texas, to Thomas Stevens and Lita Canada Petit. He was married to Cecilia Iris Cole on September 9, 1960, in Vernon, Texas.

Floyd was a cowboy and a member of The Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Wayne Petit, and one grandchild, David, Jr.

Survivors include: his wife Cecilia, of the home in Waurika, OK; two sons - David Petit of Electra, TX, and Mike Petit of Waurika/Addington, OK; one sister Nina Bromfield of Vernon, TX; and one grandchild.

Funeral services for Mr. Petit will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the First Christian Church in Waurika, with Ho Ho Petit officiating. Burial will follow in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Gary Parker, Willie Timberlake, Larry Burnett, Todd Yancy, Brad Scott, and J.R. Schreiber. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Cowan, Pat Cowan, Robert Mitchell, Jr., Roy Dale Povado, Widgy Brown and George Williams. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Friday with the family in attendance from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.
