Floyd L. Bridges, ninety-eight, of Stephenville, Texas, passed from this life Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Palestine, Texas. He was born in Clay County, Texas, July 15, 1908, to W. R. and Maude Bridges. He and Vera V. Bridges were married December 3, 1925, in Hastings, Oklahoma, where they made their home until moving to Stephenville in 1950. Mr. Bridges was a farmer, a pipeline worker and a truck driver. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Stephenville. He was a thirty-second degree Mason.

Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents W.R. and Maude Bridges, his wife Vera, two sons - Lorenzo Bridges and Howard Bridges, two brothers - Clayton and Arthur Bridges, and four grandsons.

Survivors include: one son - Eugene Bridges and his wife Joyce; three daughters - Mildred Bridges Taylor, Frankie and her husband Beau Pendelton, and Lavelle Bridges Niblett; eleven grandchildren - Cathy and her husband Tom Lewis, Gaye and her husband Carl Leseney, Brent Pendelton and his wife Mary, Bruce Bridges and his wife Linda, Kim and her husband Marvin Jones, Reneé Taylor, Bryan Bridges and his wife Theresa, Stacy and her husband Dale Dove, Johnny Bridges and his wife Amy, Todd Pendelton, and Davin Bridges and his wife Judye; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for Mr. Bridges will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 22, 3007, at the Hastings, Oklahoma Cemetery, with Pastor Jack Greenwood officiating. Burial wil be under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons.
