Felton Fairchild Cain

Felton Fairchild Cain passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at the age of eighty-two. Felton was born January 13, 1920. He was the sixth of ten children born to Della Jane Franklin Cain and Jefferson Franklin Fairchild Cain. When he was two years old he moved with his family to Ryan, Oklahoma. He grew up on a farm near Ryan. He attended school at Irving, Ryan and Union Valley, graduating from the twelfth grade at Union Valley.

While in school, Felton was very active in all sports which was his first love. He was a member of the 4H Club. In 1940 he won a trip to the National Dairy Show in Harrisburg. PA.

Felton served his country during World War II, spending thirty-two months of three yeas overseas. He was a member of the 226th Signal Operation Company and was an expert rifleman.

On June 7, 1941, Felton Fairchild Cain and Falecia Maxine Bouldin were united in marriage. To this union was born one son.

Felton was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ryan, where he served as a deacon adn taught Sunday school for a number of years.

Survivors include: his wife of sixty years; his son Felton Fairchild Cain, Jr. and his wife Rikki; three grandchildren - Tommy and Gary Cain, Dana Renee Bloxon; six great-grandchildren - Joshua Dwayne, Daniel Lee, Taylor Felton, Bryce Cain, Dustin Allen, and Amanda Bloxon; and one brother - Bernest Cain of San Antonio, TX.

He is preceded in death by: infant twin grandsons, his father, his mother, six brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 5, 2002, at the Ryan Baptist Church with Randy Allen and Clarence Mize officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Research Foundation.
