Fannie Mae Whitecotton

Fannie Mae Whitecotton was born April 4, 1924 in Terral, Oklahoma to James Monroe and Annie Mae Victor Byrd. She passed from this life Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Wilson Nursing Home at the age of eighty- five. Fannie and L.D. (Levert) Whitecotton were married June 12, 1942 in Hastings, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2000. She was a member of the Hastings Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a beloved mother and grandmother. She raised parakeets and also worked along side her husband at the family filling station.

Fannie is survived by her children - James Whitecotton of Hastings, Oklahoma, June Howard and husband Jim of Wilson, Oklahoma, five grandchildren - Mike Whitecotton of Kaaawa, Hawaii, Jeff Whitecotton of Waurika, Shane Gover, Karmen Yanez and husband Junior all of Wilson, and Tina Bevel and husband Alan of Bethany, Oklahoma, seven great grandchildren - Morgan, Jeremy, Dustin, Kagney and husband Justin, Kelcey, Baily, and Landon, two great great grandchildren - Kyler and Jace.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.D. (Levert) and daughter -in- law Glenda, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika with Noel Curington officiating. Burial will be in the Hastings Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 9AM-7PM at the funeral home with family receiving visitors from 5-6PM Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Hastings Cemetery Fund.
