Evelyn J. (Lewis) Lott
Evelyn (Lewis) Lott was born May 28, 1932, in Mt. Enterprise, Texas, in Rusk County, Texas, to Eulas Futch and Lizzie (Ballard) Lewis. She is a twin and youngest of the family. She graduated from Concord Colored High School in Mt. Enterprise. She came to Waurika in 1959 with Mt. Zion Baptist Church with four children—Camille, Willie, Sharrron and Joan. She and Oliver Lott were married in 1967 and had one child, Angela, in 1968. She was a homemaker, domestic housekeeper and had various other employments in Waurika, Oklahoma. Mother Evelyn was devoted to her family as well as to her church families. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Waurika, OK, Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Temple, OK, and First Baptist Church in Waurika, OK. She departed this life March 20, 2020.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her son Willie Berrien; two brothers Eulas (Sony) Lewis Jr. and Herbert Lewis; and two sisters Thelma Fugett and Pauline McLendon.
Survivors include: her devoted husband Mr. Oliver (Buck) Lott of Waurika, OK; four daughters—Camille Smith of Moore, OK; Sharron Lewis of Lawton, OK, Evelyn Joan Christian Blue of Killeen, TX, and Angela Lott Newby of Midwest City, OK; two sisters—Twin sister Nevelyn Morris of Nacogdoches, TX, and Bettie Brazil of San Angelo, TX; three grandsons—Richard Smith, Ricky Lott, Jr., and Russell Berrien; three granddaughters—Camellia X. Smith, Annika and Adrianna Newby; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at the Dudley Funeral Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Bruce Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in the Waurika Cemetery in Waurika under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home in Waurika. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel.
