Eula Mae Kennedy passed from this life Sunday, February 1, 2004, at the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of eighty-nine. She was born to Virgil and Maudie Durham in Sulphur, Oklahoma, on July 3, 1914. She moved from Sulphur when whe was a little girl to Jefferson County and lived there the rest of her life. Eula Mae and Noah Kennedy were united in marriage August 5, 1935, in Waurika. Oklahoma. She was a homemaker. She was head dietician/school cook for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Waurika First Baptist Church where she was Sunday School Secretary.
Survivors include: her husband, Noah Kennedy of Waurika, OK; one daughter, Patricia and Bill Southerland of Midland, TX; one sister, Nan Snavely of Gardenia, CA; five grandchildren - Kennedy, Marsha, Nancy, Tricia, and Abe; and four great-grandchildren - Tara, James, Heather, and Nolan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Noah A. Kennedy II, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kennedy were at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at Waurika First Baptist Church with Audie Dorrough officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Meal Fund or the charity of choice.
