Espea Estella Wright passed from this life Wednesday, December 17, 2003, in the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of eighty-seven. Espea was born to Marion and Dora Jane Jones on April 18, 1916, in Ryan, Oklahoma. On April 13, 1935, Espea Jones married George Dewey Wright in Waurika, Oklahoma, becoming a homemaker and mother. In 1991, Espea moved back to Waurika from Linday, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: one sone - Lewis Franklin Wright of Hobbs, NM; two daughters - Betty Sue Johnson of Granbury, TX, and Wilma Rickard of Waurika, OK; two sisters - Gladys Thompson of Bowie, TX, and Mattie Fay Dorman of Bowie, TX; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Espea was preceded in death by her husband George Dewey Wright, who died in March of 1986, one son, George Daniel Danny Wright, who died in December of 2001, and four brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wright were Saturday, December 20, 2003, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika with Valvin Buddy Call and Al Hunt officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
