Ernie Theodore Griffin passed from this life on Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at Nocona General Hospital at the age of eighty-four. He was born June 27, 1917, in Grady, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Doris Griffin. The Griffin family made its home in Grady for six years and moved to Terral in 1946. Ernie and Katherine Irene were married December 14, 1940, in Ryan, Oklahoma. Mr. Griffin was a mail carrier and a farmer. He was a member of the Terral Church of Christ.

Survivors include: his wife - Irene Griffin, of the home in Terral; two daughters - Anna Gale Wilcoxson and Joan Morgan, both of Terral; one brother - Leonard Griffin of Pittsburg, OK; one sister-in-law - Lorene Hutto of Terral; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Doris Griffin, four brothers, and one sister.

Graveside service for Mr. Griffin was at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2002, in the Terral Cemetery with Walter Haynie and Larry Jackson officiating. Burial was in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Terral.
