Ernest Edward Palmer was born July 21, 1910, in Jimtown, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Kattie Miller Palmer. He passed from this life Sunday, February 9, 2003, in the Ryan Nursing home at the age of ninety-two.

Ernest married Marcella Smith on December 7, 1935, in Waurika, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1988. Mr. Palmer was a farmer.

Survivors include: four sons - Bill of Buckeye, AZ, Buster of Ft. Worth, TX, Reece of Koiwa, KS, and Kevin of Kiowa, KS; four daughters - Mary Martindale of Lake Kiowa, TX, Sue Johnson of Magnolia, AR, Phyllis Johns of St. Cloud, FL, and Jan Palmer of Cornish, OK; twenty-one grandchldren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and two brothers - Charlie Palmer and Troy Palmer, both of Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcella, three brothers, four sisters, and three sons.

Funeral services for Mr. Palmer were at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 11, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Randy Allen officiating. Burial was in the Sugden Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sugden Cemetery Fund.
