Emma Jewell Medlin passed from this life Friday, February 6, 2004, in the Meridian Nursing Home, at the age of ninety-five. Jewell was born June 21, 1908, in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Daniel and Bonnie Lee Brown. On February 1 , 1931, she married Oscar Medlin in Empire, Oklahoma. They lived in Chamal, Mexico, until his retirement in 1976. They have been residents of Comanche, Oklahoma since 1976. Jewell was a waitress for many years and also worked for the Comanche Nursing Home as a cook. She was also a homemaker.

Survivors include: two brothers - Jess Brown of Durant, OK, and Jack Brown of Comanche, OK; one very special niece - Debbie and her husband Mark Carr of Comanche, OK; and many other nieces and nephews.

Jewell was preceded in death by: her husband, Oscar, on June 6, 1995; two brothers; and one sister.

Graveside services for Mrs. Medlin were at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 9, 2004, at Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche with Mike McCord officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Comanche.
