Emma Pearl Loman

Emma Pearl Loman was born April 25, 1929 in Ryan, Oklahoma to David and Lena Gordon Webster. She passed from this life July 18, 2013 at her home in Ryan at the age of 84.

She and Bill Loman were married August 11, 1950 in Henrietta, Texas. She worked for Haggar Slacks in Temple for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was the mayor of Ryan in 1980 and the first female mayor in Jefferson County. She enjoyed reminiscing about her high school basketball days and growing up back in the good ole days. She also loved thinking about the many fun things her and her coworkers enjoyed while carpooling to Temple to work. She also loved being with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Bill, son - Alan of Apache, Oklahoma, daughters - Billie Duncan and husband Len of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Betty Loman and Gary Biskup of Ryan, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, eight nieces and six nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter Doreen, five brothers and two sisters.

Funeral service for Mrs. Loman will be Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00AM at the First Baptist Church in Ryan with Rev. Bob Waitman officiating. Burial will be in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from noon - 8PM and Sunday from 1-5PM at Dudley Funeral Home in Ryan. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
