Edna Wood passed from this life on July 12, 2001, in the Jefferson County Hospital at the age of 91. She was born February 21, 1910, to Frank and Ruby Williamson in Waurika, Oklahoma. Edna married Virgil Wood August 22, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She and her husband were owner/administrator of Woods Nursing Home. Edna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Waurika.

She is survived by: one son - Wesley Eugene Provines of Wichita, KS; two daughters - June Griffin of Waurika and Yvonne Fitts of Little Rock, AR; two step-sons - James Wood and Virgil Wood, Jr.; one brother - Jack Williamson; and one sister - Frankie McKinsey; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services for Edna were at the First Baptist Church in Waurika at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 16, 2001, with Bro. Tim Bowen and Tommy Billings officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
