Edgar Benjamin Kafer was born October 20, 1926, to Christian and Albertina Kafer in Irving, Oklahoma, west of Ryan, and passed from this life Friday, February 7, 2003, at his home in Duncan, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-six.

Edgar was a member of Irving Baptist Church. He and Lillie Quiroga were united in marriage January 30, 1962, in Brighton, Colorado. Edgar was employed by Shell Oil Co., in California and Colorado and was an iron worker in Denver, Colorado. After retirement, the couple made their home in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Survivors include: his wife, Lillie Kafer, of the home in Duncan, OK; one brother, Max Kafer of Ryan, OK; three sisters - Gertrude Anderson of Ryan, OK, Elsie Self of New Boston, TX, and Kitty Devlin of Ft. Myers, FL; and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Kafer were at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 10, 2003, at Irving Baptist Church with Clarence Mize officiating. Burial was in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Dialysis Center of Lawton, Oklahoma.
