Earl William Murphy was born October 15, 1926, in McCloud, Oklahoma, to Etta Laura Vandaveer and James William Murphy. Earl passed from this life Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of seventy-nine. Earl served his country in the United States Army in World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Waurika. He retired as service manager for A&M International. Earl and Helen Rich were married December 16, 1950, in Oklahoma City. She preceded him in death July 21, 2000. Earl and Dortha Morgan White were married June 16, 2001, in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Survivors include: his wife, Dortha, of the home in Waurika; one son - David William Murphy of Alpharetta, GA; three step-children - Brenda Huskins of Alvarado, TX, Janice Bradford of Keller, TX, and Don Morgan of Alvarado, TX; two grandchildren - Dawn Nicole Murphy and Jennifer Marie Murphy, both of Atlanta, GA; two brothers-and sisters-in-law - Nolan and Ramona Rich of Waurika, OK, and Bob and Ruby Lyle of Arlington, TX; and a host of friends and family.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, four brothers - Leonard, Hubert, Donald and Leroy, and his sister Helen.
Funeral Services for Mr. Murphy were at 1:30 PM, Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the Waurika Church of Christ with Noel Curington officiating. Burial was in the Waurika Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
