Earl Edward Hooper

Earl Edward Hooper passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at the age of 89. He was born December 5, 1911, to James W. and Mary Frances Hooper in Waurika, Oklahoma.

Mr. Hooper was a farmer, electrical engineer, home builder, teacher, high school superintendent and was editor of the Oak Ridge News until his death.

He and Kathryn Wright were married in San Antonio, TX, in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1996. He was a graduate of Waurika High School and Oklahoma State University. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include: one daughter, Sharon Brown; several nieces and nephews; one great-grandchild; and two great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Kathryn, four brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services were held for Mr. Hooper at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 30, 2001, at the Waurika Cemetery with Dale Johnson of Marlow officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika.
