R. Earl Boren

R. Earl Boren passed from this life Thursday, March 25, 2004, in the Jefferson County Hospital, at the age of ninety-one. He was born May 7, 1912, to Elijah and Maggie Boren, in Achille, Oklahoma. He and Mary Deed were united in marriage December 24, 1931, in Cotton County, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1980. Earl and Hazel Collier were united in marriage in 1982, in Temple, Oklahoma. She also preceded him in death. Mr. Boren was a farmer and rancher and was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church.

Survivors include: three daughters - Peggy Schmitt of Lawton, OK, Shirley Gaines of Waurika, OK, and Carol Boren, of Warika, OK; two half-sisters - Viola Eubanks and Bea Hudson, both of Ringling, OK; fourteen grandchildren - Dusty, Susie, Karen, Rusty, Mark, Dustin, Justin, Kelsi, Bobby, Dakota, Sara, Brady, Landon, and Jeremy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Deed Boren, his wife, Hazel Collier Boren, one son, Bobby Boren, in 1992, two brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services for Mr. Boren were at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the Dudley Funeral Home Chapel in Waurika, Oklahoma, with Ken Coleman officiating. Burial was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Memorials may be made to the United Fund.
